Colleen Boling grew up in El Paso, Texas eventually moving to the DFW Metroplex in high school. She graduated Magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with her bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice in 2016. In pursuit of her lifelong dream of becoming an attorney, Colleen earned her law degree in 2022 from UNT Dallas College of Law where she distinguished herself with a deep commitment to justice and academic excellence, receiving the CALI Award for Trial Process. Her academic achievements were complemented by practical experience at the Joyce Ann Brown Innocence Clinic, where she investigated cases of wrongful conviction. She was also involved in community service by serving as a Community Engagement Ambassador and was involved in a host of internships and externships.
Colleen is an experienced criminal defense attorney with a strong foundation in prosecutorial work, having previously served as an Assistant District Attorney (ADA) at the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office in Fort Worth, Texas. With a deep understanding of both sides of the criminal justice system, Colleen brings a unique perspective to criminal defense, offering clients strategic and well-informed legal representation.
During her tenure at the Tarrant County DA’s Office, Colleen handled a wide range of criminal cases, from misdemeanor offenses to serious felony charges. She successfully prosecuted numerous cases, honing her skills in trial preparation, case strategy, witness testimony, and legal analysis. This experience allows Colleen to approach defense cases with an insider’s knowledge of prosecution tactics and the decision-making process within the district attorney’s office.
Known for her strong work ethic and commitment to justice, Colleen is dedicated to protecting the rights of clients facing criminal charges. She has built a reputation for providing personalized, responsive legal counsel and for delivering effective outcomes through negotiation, trial, or appeal.
Colleen is a proud member of the State Bar of Texas.Outside the courtroom, Colleen is passionate about her faith, dedicated to her large family and is an active child advocate through the Texas foster system. She actively serves others at her church and through the God Behind Bars Prison Ministry. Colleen’s hobbies include crafts, board games, and amateur bracket racing at local tracks.
